The Therapist
My name is Shelby Nassif. My passion for making a difference led me to choose Occupational Therapy as a career path. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy degree with Honours from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Since then, I completed my community service year at South Rand Hospital where I gained work and professional experience in adult physical rehabilitation, adult hand injuries, paediatric developmental delay treatment, paediatric neuro treatment, prevention and promotion services. Here I worked under the guidance and supervision of a Sensory Integration trained OT and gained experience with the Sensory Integration approach to treatment of Sensory Processing Disorders. I was part of the team that received the Edward Leruli Award from OTASA in 2017 and a certificate of excellence in Innovative Practice from OTASA in 2018.

I then entered the paediatric private sector. Here I gained work experience with regards to private practice and school-based occupational therapy and I was lucky enough to meet many precious little ones that have moulded me into the therapist that I am today. In 2020, I have followed my dream and opened my own practice. I am currently registered as an Occupational Therapist in the category of independent practice with the HPCSA.
